Vijay & Renu (15th February 2005) The following is for Renu, the woman that I have dreamed about all my life & today can't even imagine myself spending the rest of my life without her! On the 11th of October 2004, I applied for membership and got accepted. I started looking out to find my soul mate, met 3 women through this website but nothing was clicking, was on the verge of just saying what the heck, why keep on trying when am not going to meet anyone. Then I said let me give it one last try, was just scrolling through all the profiles and then I saw her, I thought let me try contacting her what's the harm and so I did. Did not receive any immediate reply and I also saw that she had not logged in for quite sometime, but still I kept persisting and then one day 30th of Nov. to be exact (I still have that email) she replies back and I reply back to her asking her where does she stay in Mumbai as she had told me that she is from Amchi Mumbai. I tell her I am coming to Mumbai on the 14th of Jan 2005, as I have to attend a cousins wedding. She says ok. Then suddenly on the 3rd of Jan she tells me that another proposal has come for her and she does not know what to do. I tell her just hang on, I'm coming to Mumbai on the 14th and we'll see after that. If you don't like me, go ahead with the other proposal. But I was scared, real scared of losing her, I cannot express what I went through in the next two weeks, it was just a gut instinct of mine that told me, she is the one I have been searching for all this while. 14th of Jan comes. I am at the airport, I SMS her and tell her that I missed my flight and I wouldn't be coming that day, I would be coming the next day. She says no problem, but she knew I was fibbing and I was. It's just that I wanted to give her a surprise. So I caught the flight on time, landed at Mumbai Airport, left my mom who was also traveling me at home along with my luggage and I told my mom that I need to meet someone urgently and I will be back in half an hour. Mom told me ok, she knew I was going to meet Charmaine, but she told me come back fast as I was supposed to bring back dinner. That was at 8:30 in the evening on the 14th. I go to Renu's house at 8:45 with a bouquet of red roses. She's not there. Gone to their neighbor's house to see a newborn baby. I wait patiently as some one is gone to call her. She comes in five minutes later and there behold is the woman that I have longed to see & meet. She tells me she's very angry with me for telling her that I wouldn't be coming that day, but if true love is to be believed in, she melts away as fast as she can get angry, and I spent the next two most memorable hours with her just talking, forgetting about my mother and the dinner. We met on the 14th of Jan 2005, believe it or not got engaged in 12 days time on the 26th of Jan (Republic Day) in full view of our parents and will be getting married on the 28th of December 2005. Whatever happened is truly unbelievable and I think is the most short-lived courtship ever (12 days)!! Who would ever believe if I told them, I met someone from the same area that we both live through WWW.WORLDJEEVANSATHI.COM, met her for the first time and twelve days later bingo we are engaged to get married. But I still remind her that we had to use WWW.WORLDJEEVANSATHI.COM to meet each other even though we came from the same place in such a big city like Mumbai when I was 2000 miles away working in Dubai. Joyeeta: I put up my profile in January of 2004 and by the time June 2005 came around, things were starting to look pretty bleak. I had met and talked to so many members but nothing ever seemed to click. Just about to lose hope and take my profile out, my maasi who was visiting from India convinced me to create a new profile. So i just changed my profile name to Rinku_ca. Within 3 days, Pankaj contaced me from Seattle. Pankaj: I had been on Worldjeevansathi.com for about 6 months and on other online dating sites before that for almost 2 years; and I had met a couple other people, but nothing clicked. Then I saw Joyeeta's profile in the daily mail from Worldjeevansathi.com. She lived in Canada, and I was restricting my searches to the US (stupid me), so she would've never shown up in my searches otherwise! I loved the way she wrote about herself, and how long her profile was. I was only concerned about one thing - she was looking for someone at least 2 inches taller than I am :). Dejected, I waited a few days and then I figured ... what the hell. If she wants to say no, she will, right :)? So I contacted her. Joyeeta: At first i was a little apprehensive, I didn't want a long dist. relationship and his height requirements weren't exactly what i had hoped for ;), but his profile was so nicely done that you could look right into this person and tell how sweet he was. So i accepted his contact, and we started emailing. Within a week, he suggested we talk on the phone. I bought my ticket, and just a few weeks after I first contacted her, I went to Toronto to see her. Things clicked really, really well. She visited me in Seattle after that, and we decided to tell our parents we had found the one! Joyeeta: An incident which will grace every story telling opportunity in our family... So when Pankaj flew down to Toronto the first time, I was at work and i couldn't go to pick him up at the airport. My dad offered to do that, so Pankaj met my dad first and spent 1 hr in the car with him. Kudos to the two of them for being so brave :)!!!! We had such a fabulous time when he came down, it was heart breaking to see him leave. Within a month i went to Seattle and we realized that we had found the "right" person. Our family was ecstatic to hear the news. Pankaj: I have to tell you - I was one of the people who never imagined this "chat mangni, pat byah" scenario. I always wanted to meet someone, take a year or two to get to know the person, and then think about getting married. But you meet the right person, and all your previous plans fall by the wayside. Once I'd met Joyeeta, I could not wait a year or two. It was hard enough to wait a few months! We got married on February 6, 2006. She is now here in Seattle, and our married life has started. Sanjeev's perspective: I put up my profile in March 2005 and in a few weeks I saw Preeya's profile. After chatting for a couple of weeks, we decided to meet. I distinctly remember my thoughts while muddling through Los Angeles traffic on my way to meet Preeya: - I was born and brought up in India and she was born and brought up here. In the following weeks and months, we got comfortable with each other. It did not take me long to realize that she was my dream girl. It was clear that we loved each other. I went all over Los Angeles looking for the perfect ring and finally found it in the jewelry district. Whew, one task down, one more to go! Me (profile: madhavipatel) and kalpesh were members with WORLDJEEVANSATHI. Believe me, none of us, were so serious about the registration. Until on the 16th December’03 I got a response from kalpesh. Well, we never knew what destiny had stored in for us!! From the initial mails, I came to know that he already knew me. Since, during his Jan 2nd 2004, visit to India from US, eventually my mother had posted my profile to him in response to his matrimonial ad in the newspaper.Unfortunately, we were not able to meet last year. But when we saw my profile on the Worldjeevansathi.com, he instantly recognized me and that was the threshold of this enigmatic event of my life… Frankly, initially none of us, were really interested in each other, and had just exchanged some mails and a few chat conversations. From them we found out that we had common friends, but all I had to do before thinking further was to wait for him to come in Dec’04. In the mean time, I had visited his parents once, before he arrived, since, later on we came to know, that we had common relatives. (Another plus point!!) Well finally, we met on 8th Jan’04. We personally met for the first time and nearly talked for an hour or so. And for the first time, I felt with a guy I had seen for the first time, that we are not strangers, still woh ghanti nahi baji!! ;).. Haha... we initially liked each other and wanted to meet again. I was still unsure, but don’t know what happened, and dint know what to do. It seemed very dramatical since the beginning. I was even very reluctant to see him the very first time also, since I had to prepare for my IELTS exams and was so desperate not to see him, since, I thought I would be wasting my study time (Ha haha!! Would have been really a fool, if would have not met him) so, we met again discussed few things and decision remained pending from my end...and finally at his house the wedding date was decided!!!??:O I was doomed, since; I had never said a yes to him. Later on the same night, still unsure that should we really wed each other, I don’t know what, but we decided “YES” we should. Ghanti baj gayee!!!!
